Byron Lamar Benefield, 69, died July 12, 2008, at Community Hospice. He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Services were at Shady Grove Baptist Church with burial at Shady Grove Cemetery. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home of Pontotoc was in charge.
Survivors included his wife, Bonnie Benefield; two sons, Jeff Benefield (Donna) of Tupelo and Bro. Keith Benefield (Lori) of Sarepta; four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Ruth Benefield; one brother, Quay Benefield; one son, Benji Earl.
