Frances Messer, 86, died July 13, 2008, in Atwood, Tenn. She was a former resident of New Albany. She was a retired factory worker and a Baptist.
Services were at Browning Funeral Home Chapel in Ecru. Burial was in Locust Grove Cemetery in Union County.
Survivors included two sisters, Minnie Hanes of Ripley, Tenn., and Sadie Hammel of California; one brother, James Green; eight grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Messer; two sons, Gene and Jerry Messer; two sisters, Carol Hammel and Ruby Kirby; and one brother, Earl Green.
