Looking for any info on my grandfather Robert William Thornton who was an orphan in Utica MS. When he was older he left the orphanage and later came back for his brother Henry Thornton. From the 1930 census, Robert William Thornton First marriage was to Julia ? his age was 33 and she was 28. They where married about 1918 at age 21 and 16. They had 6 children on the 1930 census: Robert W. age 10, Cecil M. age 8, Sibyl I. age 6, Francis M. age 5, Dorthy age 3 1/2, Ruth A. age 6 months. Living in Hinds Co. and he was a farmer, both list there parents from MS.. Later he married my grandmother Virginia Lee Harrell. He was also a Rev. in MS, He was born in 1896 and died in 1971. He is buried in Harmony cem. in Crystal Springs MS. I also believe that Julia and her older son Robert W. have both passed in 1996 for her and 2002 for him and are both buried Vicksburg, Warren, MS. Can't seem to find any information on him at all except for his WW1 reg., the 1920 MS census and the 1930 MS census. Also no last maiden name for Julia.
