The information I have concerning NATHAN JAMES "BRON" WILLIAMS, (my great-great-grandfather), is as follows;
Nathan was born 3 Sept. 1834 in Marengo Co., Alabama. He was of Choctaw indian descent. He died 13 Aug. 1864, don't know where he is buried, probably in Vicksburg, Warren Co., Mississippi or Little Rock, Arkansas. Nathan was a wagon maker and blacksmith by trade.
He married MARY JANE BOYKIN, (my great-great-grandmother), on 27 Mar. 1858 in Clarke Co., Mississippi.
MARY JANE BOYKIN was born 27 Mar. 1833 in Simpson Co., Mississippi. She was of Irish descent. She died in Nov. of 1903, and is buried in the Miles Cemetery in Miles, Texas.
They moved by wagon train to Leon Co., Texas in 1858 with Boykin families and other families.
They later moved to, and lived in, Tom Green(e) Co., Texas, with their children; Sara(h) Matilda "Tillie" b. 1859 in Texas, Williams Franklin "Frank" b. 1860 in Texas, and James Monroe Williams b. 1861 in Texas, (my great-grandfather).
I have conflicting information that Nathan either died in Little Rock, Arkansas in a hospital there, or at the Battle of Vicksburg in Vicksburg, Warren Co., Mississippi with his brother-in-law Solomon Boykin. One thing is sure, Nathan was in the Civil War; Co. H, 16th MS (Mississippi) Infantry, and he was also a member of the Waul's Texas Legion.
