HI Susan,

There is a book in the Greenville Library called Papers of the Washington County Historical Society 1910-1915, memoirs of Henry Tillinghast Ireys.
On page 132 tells about the Dr. James Metcalfe's death and his widow marring in 1837 to Dr. William Henry Hammet, at her plantation Lammermoor.
Dr. William Herny Hammet was born Donmanway, Cork County, Ireland March 25, 1799. He was a physician of much ability, and became a Methodist preacher at one time. It has a copy of his obituary. Died on June 9, A. D. 1799.

This book is very good with lots of early Washington County, MS history
