I am looking for information about Lucinda Sloan who was married to David James Doherty. They were from Mecklenburg County, NC. In the mid-1820s, they moved to Pickens County, AL. By the 1850 census, David had apparently died. Lucinda was shown in the 1850 census as being head of a household in Wayne County, MS. Shown in that census as living next door was Sarah (Doherty) High, widow of John Thomas High, and believed to have been a daughter of David James Doherty's and Lucinda Sloan's. If anyone has any information on either of these families, or knows of anyone who has researched either, please contact me. Any tidbits of information, even clues and speculation, would be very much appreciated. Thanks.
