John, I'll give you what I have in the Mississippi reference books.

From "Marriages and Deaths from Mississippi Newspapers" Vol. 2: 1801-1850, page 135, The Mississippian (Jackson, Miss), October 14, 1836 -- Died in this place, on Sunday evening last, Maj. Chas. Edwards, a native of Louisiana, but for the last 25 years a resident of this state.

Page 119, March 15, 1834 -- Tax Collectors Sale:...160 Acres assessed to John Tullis and bounded by John Tyson and Charles Edwards. Tax due for 1832 & 1833 = $1.40.

From "The Woodville Republican: Mississippi's Oldest Existing Newspaper" Vol. 2,

Page 125, January 13, 1844 -- Wright Stanley cautions anyone trading for a note given Dec. 23, 1843 by the subscriber, with Jas. A. Ventress as secuity, to Sam'l Davis & J. H. Muse, executors of Charles Edwards, dec'd.
Page 141, June 1, 1844 -- Narcissa Edwards states that the reward of $150 reward offered for the restoration of a negro boy named SAM, by Charles A. Edwards, last November is hereby annulled.
Page 147, August 17, 1844 -- Married the 15th, by the Rev. T. C. Brown, Jr. Rufus R. Richardson, to Mrs. Narcissa J. Edwards, all of this county.

Rufus Richardson offers $60 reward for the return of the negro slaves, Sam, Essex and Lewis.

I realize Charles Edwards and Charles A. Edwards above are two people, but included all in case you needed it. I hope some of this helps you.
