Hello, I am the great granddaughter of Artelia Morgan Overton Avery 1861 Alabama. My father was Luther Virgil Avery, son of Frank Avery, grandson of Artelia Morgan Overton Avery. I am interested in learning about my Choctaw heritage. I have a picture of Mrs. Avery on my wall at home; it is a wonderful picture of a handsome, gray-haired lady with high cheekbones. She must have been very beautiful as a young woman. My Dad was born in Oklahoma and later lived in Hutchinson, Kansas. As a young girl, I visited his father, mother (who then lived in Arkansas with her daughter Opal), brother and his aunt Delia and uncle Emmett. I'm rather new to geneology, but I'd specifically like to know if I would be eligible to enroll in the Choctaw Nation - it is a matter of pride for me. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you, Cuba Lynette Avery (Lynn) Stoltzman
