My maiden name is Kirk and I was born in Winston County. My aunt worked with Lucien McNees in writing the Kirk Family Book. I have a copy. There are nor more in print, but you can go to the nearest LDS Family History Center and order it on film. I have done that as well and I am working through it now. It goes back to Christopher Kirke and Ann coming over from England. Thornton Taylor is on page 36. We are both descended from Jeremiah Kirk and Ann Monroe, siter of President James Monroe. Is there something that you are looking for that I can e-mail you about. He was married to Elizabeth ( Betsy) Kirk and was in the ministry and he was born around 1800. She helped manage Jeremiah Kirk's estate. Then there is the Taylor family descendacy listed up to and through the 40's and early 50's. The name of the book is "KIRK FAMILY and RELATED FAMILIES". As I said, I can either mail you some of it, but the best thing to do is to order it through the Family History Center. It will cost you a rental fee of $3.50 for a period of 30 days. Many of them will have the facilities to copy it or you can extend the loan and copy it yourself. My sister has told me that she can make prints of the book and bind it, if I will get it to her because she owns a printing shop. I may be able ro do that, but it will take a while and you can get it quicker the other way. If there is something you would like immediatly, I can print it in an e-mail and send that to you.
