John & Elizabeth came from TN (about the 1840's) to start a program for the Methodist Church. The story is that it was a home for the poor. Was there a Poor House or something like that in the Coffeville area? John died before the Civil War, Elizabeth survived and later married John Brock & Jac Highsmith.
