James M. Ellis, born c1844 in GA, was my ggrandfather. He was listed as a merchant in Oakland, MS on the 1860 census. He enlisted in the 2nd Calvary CSA at Ponotoc, MS. He was killed in battle in 1864. He left behind a wife, Sarah Ann Smith, and two daughters, Lucy Ann and Ella Jane Ellis. Sarah Ann was also born in GA. Who were James M. Ellis' parents? Who were Sarah Ann's parents?Where in GA were they born?
