I'm seeking data from the Gattis Cemetery, South of Oakland in Yalobusha Co. MS. I am looking for information about Allen Gattis and his kin, and the information need not be cemetery data. Allen Gattis was born about 1803 and died about 1859. His wife was Angelina Kendrick, born about 1820 and died after the 1860 Census of Yalobusha Co. The 1850 and 1860 censuses show them with 8 children: Robert, Susan, Margaret E, Allen, Mary, Nancy, Lucy and Cora. I have exact dates for only Margaret E Gattis (b. 29 Sep 1841, d. 13 Aug. 1898, m. James B. Talbert and buried with him in the Talbert Cemetery, in SW Yalobusha Co.).
Allen's father was Samuel Gattis, Sr., born bet. 1760-1770 and reportedly died 1837 at Tillatoba, Yalobusha Co. Samuel's wife was Margaret Allen, born about 1778 in Orange Co. NC and died after the 1850 Census of Yalobusha Co.
