Carolyn, I saw your offer to Chris of information about, among others, the Bells of Yalobusha County. Can you identify the Susan Bell who was living with these Turner families according to the 1870 census? I can't see that she was related to the Turners. 1870 Census, Yalobusha County, MS Turner, William H. 50 Nancy 39 Sarah E. 8 Wm. S. 6 Lula E. 2 Edward 6/12 Immediately following, listed as another household, but probably not, Turner, Willis B. 15 farmer (a 3 written over the 1 to change it to 35; an m written over the illis to make Wm.) James R. 12 at home John T. 10 Mary Gibson 14 going to school Susan Bell 66 house keeper born in Virginia The three boys in the lower list were William Venoy Turner (really 15), James Ransom Turner and John Thomas Turner, orphans of William H. Turner's brother James A. Turner and his wife Tennessee Hale Turner. Mary Gibson is William H.'s stepdaughter. Mrs. Nancy Turner is probably Mildred Wallace Gibson Turner, if that provides a clue. I would be grateful for any help you can give. Walter Notify Administrator about this message?
