Seeking information concerning families of William Walker and Jonas L. Gibson who migrated from Georgia and lived in Winston Co. Al until 1873 when they went westward. Perhaps they settled in Water Valley about 1874. Tomb of one William A. Walker and wife Elizabeth is located in Walker Cemetery near Water Valley, Yalobusha, MS.

My ancestor, William Walker had 7 children when his wife died during childbirth. The baby was raised by his parents. He married Elizabeth Nelson in 1871 in Decatur, Alabama. His sister was Elizabeth Louisa and husband: Jonas L. Gibson. Chidren were Sarah A. b. 1851, Eliza L. b. 1853, Richard b. 1854, Augustus D. b. 1855, Mary E. b. 1858, Susan C. b. 1855, Nancy L. b. 1861 and Josephine A. b. 1865. Their married son was William A. Gibson married Martha Frances Segars b. 1851. Their daughter was Sarah S. b. 1869.
