Seeking information on the following associated Smith families in 1840-50 Yalobusha County: In Jan 1837, Stephen Smith (b. 1814) married Mary Holly (b. TN 1821) children in 1850 census : Jacob (b. 1838); John (b. 1842); Elizabeth (b. 1844); Justin/Jasper (b. 1846); Stephen (b. 1848) Mary Holly Smith died abt. 1849; Stephen & most of his children disappear between 1850-1860; only Jacob (1838) & Stephen (1848) are apparent survivors in Cothen/Davis households in 1860 Peter Smith (b. NC 1800) married to Mahala Holly? (b. 1817) children in 1850 census: John (b. 1837); Pleasant [m] (b. 1839); Sarah (b. 1841); Jeremiah (b. 1843); Elizabeth (b. 1845); Mahala (b. 1848 ) Parents Mahala & Peter disappear between 1850-60. Only surviving children seem to be John, Pleasant & Elizabeth who are together in an Oakland, MS household in 1860. JH Smith (b. MS 1826) was in 1850 census with wife Mary (b. AL 1827); child: Lonna/Tonna [f] (b. 1849) This family may be that of HJ & MJ Smith in 1860 Yalobusha census Rodwell Smith (b. GA 1805) was in 1850 census with children: Luvicia (b. AL 1822); Joshua (b. AL 1830); Stephen (b. AL 1832); Jacob (b. AL 1834); Peter (b. AL 1837); James (b. AL 1839); William (b. AL 1841); Nancy (b. AL 1843); Mary (b. AL 1845); Catherine (b. AL 1837); Hiram (b. AL 1849) This family is intact as that of RW & Louise B, Smith in 1860 Yalobusha census Henry Smith (b. NC 1774), wife Linney (b. NC 1783) was in 1850 census with child Lydia (b.
