Orphanages and marriage certificates

How can I find out about orphanages that may have been in Yazoo County? My husband's great grand mother was a Ada or possibly Susan Ada Bates. She was born July 16, 1869 and died December 14, 1951. She married Calvin Jutson or Judson Milner. According to my father-in-law, his grandfather always said he "got his wife from an orphanage". This is the only lead I have to find out more about her. I also have that Calvin and Ada Milner had five children that I know of; Hilda Ada Milner b. 1904 and married Marion Monroe Cessna, Sarah J. Milner b. 1886, Samuel Irwin b. 1898, Betty Milner b. ?, Minnie Milner b. ?
Also would marriage certificates be available for the 1880's? Would the application for marriage license be available and would they name the parents or guardians?
Thanks,
Rebekah
