Thanks for the reply. I didn't know there may have been two William Christophers. My g grandfather is William Woodward, son of the William Christopher born in 1826 by my records. William Woodward was murdered by a neighbor being arrested before my time. WW served on a posse making the arrest. WW was shot in the chest with buckshot and the neighbor was subsequently lynched by the other deputies. I remember seeing WW's shirt with the blood-stained bullet holes in the early 1960's.

Several of the old graveyards around Yazoo are falling apart.
