I think this is one of the "James" Bell's I'm looking for. I have a James Bell in my records whose father was Robert Raiford Bell and his mother was Eurile Bennett. I had estimated James birth as earlier than 1940 however and had tentatively listed it as about 1924 or so. I didn't know anything about the adopted son "David" however.
In my records I show Bob Bell as having worked for J.P. Evans Drilling Co.. he died in King's Daughters Hospital on 8 Nov 1956 as a result of a cerebral hemmorage. The obit stated he was a member of Masonic Lodge, Rebekkahs, and Odd Fellows. Said he had been a lifelong resident of Yazoo City. I don't have a date of death for Eurile Bennett, nor do I know anything more about son James (Jimmy). He is the one I'm tryng to track down.
If you recall about when Jimmy was killed, or about when his mother Eurile died, I'd appreciate your letting me know.
My grandather was William Hawkins Bell, born 13 Mar 1852 in Yazoo Co., MS. He was son of Jesse Edward Bell and Susannah Priscilla Hawkins Magruder. I don't know when Jesse died, but it was after 1870. Susannah died on 2 April 1852, about 2-3 weeks after the birth of my grandfather. She is buried in Richland Cemetery, Holmes Co., MS.
Thanks for your efforts in trying to help me. I have most of the Bell's located, but trying to tie up some few that I haven't been able to trace. Had hoped to find some living relatives.
