According to THE OLD CEMETERIES OF HINDS COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, by Mary Collins Landin, the following Austins are buried in Greenwood Cemetery. This is the oldest cemetery in the city of Jackson.

Martha A., daughter of W. J. and Nannie, b. 17 May 1838, d. 18 Jun 1852
Nannie C., wf. of W. J., 1802-1869
W. J., no dates given
Mary, b. not given, d. 1870
Major William A., 1863-1898, Was major a name or title?
(Nannie C. would be too old to be mother of Major Wm. A.)
