My past experience with death certificates is that you had to KNOW THE COUNTY OF DEATH. Sometimes Grandpa fooled you and didn't die at home in the countryside, but was taken to a hospital in a larger city in another county.
I don't know if they have improved their search methods concerning the county of death. Call 601-576-7981 before sending in your money to make sure of the conditions of the search. Also, they will only search for a number of years.
If he died before 1943, the Mississippi Department of Archives and History may be able to help you.
