A record of at least some children has already been found for you (I checked responses to your old Hjelm messages since this one didn't provide enough to work with.) which doesn't list Fredrik ("Fred") among the following family members in a Swedish parish record called the husförhörslängd (HFL). (He either wasn't a sibling or was born in years other than those listed here.) The HFL is usually translated as household examination record or clerical survey record. It can be seen on the fee-based Genline site.

This is the specific Genline page. It covers 1876-1880 in Kvillinge parish in Östergötland län (county) in Sweden.

GID # 326.56.56200

Lifgr. (a type of military man) Nils Petter Hjelm, born 27 June 1836 in Skedevi, married 26 December 1867

wife Augusta Jakobsdotter, born 16 August 1842 in Lerbo, Nyköping län

his son in previous marriage Alfrid Theodor, born 15 August 1861 in Qvi (Kvillinge)

his daughter in previous marriage Selma Maria, born 26 May 1865 in Qvi

Makarnas (the spouse's?) son Karl Hjalmar, born 1 March 1868 in Qvi

Makarnas (the spouse's?) daughter Augusta Amalia, born 27 November 1869 in Qvi

Makarnas (the spouse's?) son Gunnar Gottfrid, born 15 September 1871 in Qvi

Makarnas (the spouse's?) son Nils August, born 12 June 1873 in Qvi, died 19 August? 1877

Makarnas (the spouse's?) daughter Hulda Erika, born 13 September 1876 in Qvi

son David Herman, born 12 July? 1879 in Qvi

As we said in other messages, at least some of the answers you seek (such as when Fredrik was born) can be found in the Swedish parish records. Those records are fairly easy to search but it takes a lot of time to do the searching, so it is unlikely someone else will do it for you. (Sometimes people will, but you need to provide a lot of details (such as the above) to narrow down the possibilities. Hjelm is actually not an especially rare name.)

When did Fredrik emigrate? There is a year of immigration which can be found on the U.S. Federal Censuses for 1900-1910-1920-1930.
