hi all, from a very sunny but windy day here in the county of CHESHIRE, ENGLAND.
i am searching for my g/aunt FANNY HEWITT who came to the USA on 7 Sept 1886, NEW YORK, age 20 and unmarried.
she was born in July 1886 in STANLEY, LIVERPOOL ENGLAND,
dau of JOSHUA and ELLEN HEWITT.
once she arrived in NEW YORK on the SS ITALY, ive lost all contact with her, she isnt on the 1900 census, at least not in her name FANNY HEWITT so she either died or got married, and im hoping its the second one. Ive scanned
the 1900 census for all the FANNY ????? born 1866 and come up with 32 hits, some of which I can eliminate because she
didnt have a second given name. so now im working my way through the remaining 28 names and ive come up with this one
FANNY ROOT and WILLIAM F ROOT, LIVINGSTON, PARK, MONTANA
and im hoping someone can check the 1900 and any other census with a hope of finding out whether this FANNY ROOT
is in fact FANNY HEWITT, my g/aunt.
She didnt come to the USA until 1886 so she must have
married between that date and 1900, and i cant find a marriage for her in NEW YORK, so that should narrow it down quite a lot.
I will be most greatful for any help you can give me.
either with checks on the 1910 1920 and a marriage entry if possible.
