I am not related, Cathee Here is another article: The Helena Independent 2/26/1884 The Indian Fight. From particulars of the late fight on the Muscleshell, between the five horse-stealing Piegans and the pursuing whites and their Indian allies, it appears that Ames, Tate, Owens and Sidle came upon the Piegans in such a way as to cover them with their guns. The Indians said to take the horses—they "no fight." Hearing this, Ames and Tate dropped their guns, and the Piegans as promptly fired, killing those two men and slightly wounding Owens and Sidle. Sidle fired with his gun and two revolvers, and killed two Indians; Owens killed a third,, and Plenty Coes, the Crow chief, who then came up, killed a fourth Piegan and scalped him. The one remaining Indian escaped badly wounded. Several horses belonging to the pursuers were killed in the fight. Notify Administrator about this message?
