From the "Montana Standard," published at Butte, Montana on Saturday Morning, March 4, 1939:
KARL O. PETERSON
Karl Oscar Peterson, 48, died yesterday at a local hospital. He was a native of Finland, but had resided in Butte for the past 29 years. He had been the proprietor of a boarding house at 209 Colorado street for a number of years.
Surviving are a son, Karl R. Peterson; a daughter, Miss Ethel Peterson; a sister, Mrs. Hannah Harkins, and a nephew, Elroy Ronholm, all of Butte; also a nephew, Arvid Peterson, Spokane, Wash., and four sisters in Finland.
The body is at the Richards funeral home pending funeral arrangements.

March 5, 1939:
PETERSON---The remains of the late Oscar Peterson are at the Richards funeral home. Removal will be made tomorrow (Monday) morning to the Covenant Mission church, where services will be conducted by the Rev. Ruben E. Johnson of Missoula at 1:30 p.m. Interment in Mountain View Cemetery.

March 7, 1939:
KARL O. PETERSON
Final rites for Karl O. Peterson were conducted yesterday afternoon in the Covenant Mission church with the Rev. Reuben Johnsen, Missoula, officiating. Burial was in the Mountain View Cemetery.
Music was presented by Mrs. Ruth Carlson, accompanied by Arthur Darlington.
Pallbearers were James McCashin, Allen P. Kelly, Gust Lofquist, Ed Finnas, Thure Johnson and Otto Forsell.
Mr. Peterson died Friday at a local hospital. He has been a resident of Butte for the past 29 years.

I was unable to find his son, Karl R. Peterson listed in my 1952 Butte City Directory (Polk).
