Hi

i am from england and last week visited several WW1 cemetaries around the Argonne forest area of eastern France, whilst visiting a friends museum i came across a metal tag which was used i believe to identify the body of a fallen soldier. this tag was a long thin strip with the details stampen in it.

The soldiers name was Darrel Youngberg, he was from montana and enlisted into the 348th machine gun battalion of the 91st Division. he died on october 2nd 1918 near romagne in eastern france.

I thought it would be kinda nice to see if i could find out any more about his life, and if any family are still alive.

can anyone help.

many thanks....Geoff.
