Muckenfuss/Ohio/Germany

Hello, My Muckenfuss family came later than the PA and SC groups. They settled in Cincinatti and other parts of Ohio about 1880, 1890. Origins in Germany are probably the same as the other families but I can not find my German link. My dad..Robert, grandfather, William, ggrandfather George Leonard immigrated to USA and married after he arrived. gggrandfather, Philip Muckenfuss/Germany. George and family spoke flient French as well as German. Does that give a hint that the Philip Muckenfuss may have come from Alsax Lorraine which changed borders between Germany and France from time to time? That is still near the origins of the other Muckenfuss families. Any ideas?
