Hope you get this posting Jim as I have just joined this site and read your message from 4 years ago.

My great-great-grandfather was Thomas Mullarkey who was father of James (who married Mary Connor in Tuam 12th Nov 1887). James' marriage certificate shows that his father, Thomas, had died by that time.

James and Mary had 6 children:- Mary Eleanor, b.20th Oct 1888; Bridget, b.1890; Margaret, b.1892; Anne, b.1894; Thomas, b.26th May 1896; and finally James, b.1898.

I believe it was only Mary and Margaret who emigrated to the USA and that their siblings remained in Dunmore throughout their working lives.

Thomas (b.1896) was my grandfather. My grandparents had 8 children and one of them, Mary, emigrated to America whilst the others came here to England.

My research on Thomas Mullarkey, circa 1817, consists largely of speculation based on a process of elimination from searching through the relevant records for marriages and deaths in Ireland.

More than four years have passed since your message and much may have changed in that time. I really do hope you receive this as the persons mentioned above are DEFINITELY your extended family.
