Michael MULLETT to America about 1847

My maternal great, great grandfather was Michael MULLETT. The story goes that Michael came to the United States from Ireland in 1847 or 1848 with his oldest son, Jim. Michael died about six months after he arrived. Jim was left on his own.

Michael left behind in Ireland a family of several children and his widow Bridget (O'ROURKE) MULLETT. Bridget and her children came to the United States about 1862. They eventually settled in Sanilac County, Michigan.

My MULLETT ancestors were said to be from County Wexford, Ireland.

Does anyone have any information on this family?
