Another good source is Art Mullies "History of the English Speaking Mullis Family."
There is a Swiss based Mullis family. I have visited St. Justus Church in the village of Flums. "Old" Mullis' are buried in the cemetary there while current generation Mullis' are active in the very old church. Flums was indicated as the origin of the Mullis'. Most believe that the mainline Mullis family in the U.S. came from England. There are many there to this day.
