Yeah! I have never been able to verify who Eli and Joseph's mother's parents were. I have the book "Mullis Melange" that suggests that Lydia was their daughter but there is no verification of it. I have a photo of what we think is Lydia's grave next to Joseph in the Mullis Cemetery in Cadwell. My daddy mapped the cemetery out and took photograhs of all the gravesites. Lydia's tombstone says "Liddia Mullis, beloved wife of Charlie Mullis. Departed this life Nov 30, 1875. Age 70 years." That makes it even curiouser because when Daddy talked to Carlton E. Mullis (who just died a couple of weeks ago) and his wife and King, my granddaddy's younger brother, they said that they have always heard that her husband was a Hinson. This may not be the same Lydia. Do you have any confirmation of her parentage or know where I could find some? Thanks, Lynn
