Hello Neil,
I am sure this is my grandfather, Ray Mulrony.(There is no e in the spelling). He may have lived in Thornton, WA, briefly as the birth certificate for my Uncle James Mulrony lists the place of birth as Thornton in 1919.Ray's wife, my grandmother, was named Helen and they lived in Ewan and Cashup. My mother's name is also Helen. There were four children who lived and one who lived only part of a day.We recently dedicated a grave marker for the infant at Pine City, WA.I have a picture of Ray taken when he graduated in 1910.
There is one other possibility, too.My Great-Uncle Hiram (Ray's younger brother) may have enlisted under my grandfather Ray's name because he was too young to enlist otherwise.Since Ray & Helen lost a child on June 17, 1917 (just two months after the US entered WWI)I believe the picture you have may be of him.I would like to see the picture you have to compare the two.My mother (also Helen) said she had no recollection of Ray being in the military during WWI.It could be the uniform is for the national guard or some other organization.I am very interested in knowing more about the picture you have.Is there any way you could send a digital copy by email?
Thank you for taking the care to find the right person.I know how much this picture will mean to me if it is my Grandfather or Great-Uncle.I appreciate your discretion.
Nancy Lentz daughter of Helen Mulrony Lusby.
Granddaughter of Ray & Helen Mulrony.
