Post World Wide Mumby Gathering

The Mumby Family Gathering in Lincolnshire, England was a great success. According to the local and national press, it was the first of its kind in England. Over 100 people attended the two day event that was on held on March 17/18, 2001. By all acounts, everyone had a great time, new conacts were made, distant cousins discovered and genealogical records exchanged. The culmination of the gathering at the village of Mumby was an added bonus.

To all who were involved in organizing the event, a big thank you from us all. An especial thank you to Estelle Mumby, Roger Frankish and Linda Van Meter for their efforts. Our thanks also to Daffyd Robinson vicar of St. Thomas of Canterbury church in Mumby, as well as the landlord of the Queens Head Hotel in North Kelsey, Lincolnshire.

It seems that there is already discussion of the possibility of another Mumby World Wide meeting in either NY State of Ontario Canada for 2003.

If you have Mumby ancestral roots in north Lincolnshire you may be interested in the new birth, marriage, death, census site managed by Estelle Mumby or the new Mumby bulletin board and genealogical database I manage.
