Hi Kelly,
Sorry, no Michigan info here, but today went on a trip to Jones Co, Iowa and found a group of MUNDINGERs whose name was interchanged with MUNSINGERs there. I found John MUNDINGER at the top of the marriage license and he was John MUNSINGER at the bottom of it!!! Time frame for all these being in Iowa seems to start c1859--.
The MUNSINGERs came from "MUNZINGER" from Germany and the 'z' sounded like a 'dts' or 'ts' sound here. For more info, see Don Boyd homepage on MUNZINGERs, it's huge!! Pamela
