Jim, perhaps you can help me with a potentially major find.I desperately need to know more about the mother Lucy Agard, who could be a missing link in a fairly complete Agard study started by my father and written up (1970's) in a book he titled "Agards in America".
Mungers and Agards were already related:we have a Dorothy Munger who married Humphrey Needham, who together had daughter Ruth Needham of Wales, MA, who in 1779 married Joshua Agard of Mansfield CT.They had (perhaps) eight kids born between 178Xand 1802 the last having been named Needham. Not well documented except for an Elizabeth who married Jason Bugbee and they had a bunch of kids.
The only contemporary Lucy Agard we know about married Philo Rust and is not a candidate. But there's always the chance that your Lucy was already a widow, in which case her first husband would be essential information.Another mysterious Lucy Agard (died 1863) is buried in Springville NY (Erie County) with a family of Harknesses. We don't know anything at all about her (birth or marriage status or relation to Harkness), but there's nothing to make me think she's your Lucy.
