I do not know where to find the book--however, you are probably more interested in the children of this Joseph Gifford, born 1775, and Mungle connections.Following is more complete information:
1.Mary Gifford m. B. B. Carter (not Parker)
2.Eliza GIfford m. John Parker
3.Francis Gifford m. Francis Parker
4.Martha Gifford m. William Parker
5.Elizabeth Gifford m. William Mungle.(Their children:Danl (Daniel G.), Sarah A. Elizabeth, Mary (Mary Wooten), William, and John
6.Jabez Gifford
7.Gideon Gifford
8.Edward P. G. Gifford, m. Malinda Mungle (sister to William)
9.probably Lucy B. Gifford who m. Josefus Keeling
Malinda's sister Ruth married George C. Gifford, probably son of Gideon Gifford, Sr. and wife Catherine Slaughter.
According to worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com--Isaac Mungle, Sr., b. 1 Apr 1788, Va.Died 31 July 1863, Bollinger Co., Mo. (parents wereDaniel Mungle and Abigail McKinney) married Ellenor Britten b. 1789 in SC.Marriage ended in divorce.
According to this source, children of Isaac and Ellenor were John, Ruth, William (b. 1813), Andrew Greer, Sarah, Allen and Malinda.
Marriage #2 to Lovina Lance in 1847.Their children:Isaac, Henry, Leanner Abigail, Parsetta Elizabeth, George Washington, Anthony Columbus.
Another source is rootsweb mailing list for Smith County, Tenn.Information there describes encounter between Mungles and Indians in Tennessee.
Hopes this helps you in your research and gives you hints where to look for your family.
