I am looking for information on my great Grandfather Murrat.I am not sure of his exact name but was told he went by the following name: John William Alfonso Schalck Seeley Murrat. From what I know his father was born in France and his mother was born in Germany. They migrated here and he was born in Louisiana. He had two step sisters who later moved to California. He was born around 1890 and went to private schools and later went to college. He spoke 5 languages fluently. He was involved in the range wars of Montana prior to 1917 and came to Arizona just prior to the first world war. He joined the service in the first world war and was in the 340 field art. 89 division. It is said he was used to possibly translate during the service. After he left the service he came to Young Arizona where he met and married Emma Mengus prior to 1926 and had two sons. He died in 1934. When he came to Arizona he added Seeley to his long list of names but did not use it on his military records. In Arizona he was known as Bill Seeley, but on his sons birth certificates his name was listed as John William Schalck Seeley Murat. If you have any information or know where I could get information on my Great Grandfather please email me at jennifergourdin@theriver.com.
