Hi:Have read your message and wondered if it
might be possible for you to be of help in
finding information on my gggfather,John Mur-
dock, who came to Nova Scotia from Scotland.Un
fortunately I don't know where he came from in Scotland. He settled in Annapolis Valley,
Bridgetown,married Harriet Hicks.They had a
son John,Margaret,and 3 other sisters.(don't
know their names)Margaret was born 1826 and
at time of her death,15 Oct 1905,her 4 sib-
lings were still living.Rough guess on John's
(from Scotland)age B. maybe 1800?Margaret was
my ggmother, who married Edward Wheelock Pay-
son in N.S.They moved to Boston MA,where they
continued their carpentry business, around late 1870's or 1880.All of their children had
been B.in NS.The book "The Atlantic Canadians
" states that John (expect John Jr.)was a farmer,still living in Bridgetown,NS in 1896.
Margaret and Edward's children were Holland-1851,Anna,Charles Murdock Payson(grandfather) 28 Aug 1855,Laura,Mary,&George Wheelock PaysonThanks in advance for any help you might have
on family.George
