Many thanks for the information which has nicely filled in some gaps for me.
I have been trying to identify all of John's and Rosa Hannah's known children. If you have his death certificate and it specifies their names and ages or if they are deceased (I know a lot of NSW records only give the numbers of females and males), perhaps you could help me sort them out?
Those I know of (or suspect are theirs) are:-
John Thomas, 1858-1858, born at Ballarat
William John, 1859-1928, born at Ballarat, died at Burwood NSW, married Florence Eva WILLMOTT
Edward James, 1863-1931, born at Wollongong, died at Granville, late of Lidcombe
Frederick, 1865, born at Wollongong - no record of his death to 1945 in NSW and not on the Probate Index. Not found elsewhere in Australia, but I haven't extracted the Qld records yet.
Eliza Fimbow, 1871- , born at Wollongong, possibly married as Elizabeth Murley - is this your "Elizabeth"?
Nettie Grace, 1874 -, born at Wollongong, married 1910 at Sydney to Charles W. SLIP
Albert Ernest, 1876-1919, born at Wollongong, died at Lismore, late of McRees Hill, Lismore
Walter, 1879-1944, born at Wollongong, married 1911 to Elsie GRAY, died at Byron Bay
George Theodore, 1881-1963, born at Wollongong, died 1963, late of Dapto
Elizabeth, born ??, married 1891 to Alfred E. HAHM, dau Lilian E born 1892, Alfred died 1898 at St. Leonards NSW - I presume this is Eliza Fimbow Murley, above
Sydney, born ??-1934, died at Mayfield - no record of birth as Murley, married 1908 to Ethel LLEWELLYN
and
? Charles Henry, died 1937 at Randwick, married 1905 to Ethel May LAWLESS. Father registered as John, but mother unnamed in death record
Do you have any information on the causes of death and the occupations of this family, and Rose Hannah's approximate birth year?
Do you know which denomination John and Rose Hannah married and were buried under?
Also, do you know where the baby John was buried? I have no record of him at Ballarat, even as an unnamed infant, so I presume he was buried further afield, at Buninyong, Sebastopol, Smythesdale etc.
