Hi Colin
Thanks very much for your reply which I think answers my question.
It is the same marriage and is entered in the East Coker parish register. William was born in Merriott and later lived in West Chinnock. Mary I assume lived in East Coker.
My cousin has just produced her latest Murley Tree and from what you have said, re. the Edwards and g. grandfather, Thomas, I believe i have worked out the relation.
William's father, Thomas b 1738 and Mary's grandfather, Edward b 1749, were brothers.
I didn't know that the Edwards were solicitors.
Mary's nephew, John b 1816 - now would he be a child of one of her siblings or one of William's please? I guess that he is your ancestor?
Would like to discuss the family further, as we have info on Edward of Crewkerne who was Mary's brother.
I look forward to further discussion.
