E.V. Although I don't have a copy of the obit, I do have some information taken from "Marriages & Death Notices From the Southern Christian Advocate 1837-1860": "Mrs Mary Marshall Prescott employed George Murph as her overseer on her extensive plantation, 25 Dec 1826. On 25 Jun 1816, George was made guardian of Mary's children, signed by Conrad Murph. On 16 Oct 1840 Baldwin Co., Ga, File 79-1960 Richland County, presents receipts for children.
William Prescott's estate was administered 28 Nov 1810 by widow, Mary Prescott and her brother, John Marshall & brother-in-law, Benjamin Prescott. File 67-1527 Richland Co., SC.I show children of William & Mary as Elizabeth, Aaron & William Marshall and children of George & Mary as James & Susan C.
Do you have any information on George's brothers and sisters or his parents????Really need help on this, especially on Henry.
Hope this helps, Martha
