Researching John Jacob Murph Sr. of Cabarrus NC

Here are my collected notes on John Jacob Murph Sr. who arrived in Cabarrus County, NC (then part of Mecklenburg County) sometime before 1790.

My ancestor is William L. [R?] Murph, his grandson.

There is a link on this page to earlier Jacob Murphs (Morf/Murf) in South Carolina.

There doesn't appear to be a clear record of John Jacob Murph Sr. in South Carolina. In other words, no John Jacob or Jacob disappears from SC before 1790. There is a young Jacob Murf there but he continues to be recorded until 1803.

Does anyone know of any evidence of John Jacob Murph Sr. in South Carolina?
