Sounds like it could be the same family, but I'm finding there were alot of Murthaghs (Murtaghs) from Monaghan. Note though - it looks like alot of the same names. I've just started the research on this branch, so the info I have is all word of mouth & not substantiated by documents:
Bernard Murtagh (born Tullmaroly Monaghan) married Mary McAnany (also Tullymaroly) they had 8 children:
Kate, Alice, Michael, Bridget (never married),Nellie (never married), Mariah, Tessie & another son (died, possibly at 17)
Michael is my great grand.
Re: Alice - Tessie moved to Boston & met her husband (Mr. McCarroll/McGarrell)He had a brother in Ireland that she arranged for Alice to meet. Alice married the brother. Alice had a son (died @21) and a daughter in Dublin. One other piece of info from something my grandmother said, I think Alice had more than one daughter. Unfortunately, my grandmother is now in her mid 90's and not able to provide any more info - I expect to be in Dublin in Feb and will try to search some of the records there. If I find anything, I'll let you know. Margaret
