Murtaghs of Longford, County Longford
Posted by: Eric Macklin (ID *****0952) Date: June 25, 2006 at 07:12:27

Judging by the ancient history of Ireland the Murtaghs seem to have been married to just about every member of the Dalriadan High Kings of Ulster. There is a Dierdre Murtagh married to Sean MacLochlainn and their son was Murtagh MacLachlainn cir 1226.
There is a Mary Murtagh from Longford Co Longford married to John Macklin [MacLaughlin -MacLochlainn] in 1813.
I am looking for a Murtagh who is related to the Murtaghs of Longford Co Longford as I would like to know what happened to Mary Macklin [Murtagh] who was a land owner in Co Down near Newry around the time of the Griffith's Valuations making it 1854.
Greetings to the Murtaghs and thank you.
