That would tough to sort out the Musgraves had a three hundred year blood fued with the Dacres and also fueded with the Armstrongs,Irvines and Grahams among others. About that time Capt Thomas musgrave Johns brother engaged in a duel with Lancelot Carleton on April 8 1602. The Carletons and the Musgrave were at it at that time. Lancelot was a notorius blackguard even by border standards. Thomas was Capt and I did not know jack ever held the title. I belive he was Warden of the West march for some though. Carelton and Anton Armstrong twice atempted to murder John Musgrave.
The Musgraves always gave as good as they got.
Hell we still do,come to think of it.
