I thought perhaps this information might help everybody looking for Oswin in Ireland:

in Irish Gaelic, M is sometimes pronounced as a V. Due to the mistakes that happen in writing down spoken words, our Oswin was probably pronounced Osvin, but spelled Ossmin or Ossman.

So, this would make Ossman a very probable prospect. Especially since he has two sons of the correct names at the correct time.

So, maybe college is doing something for me!
