According to Harold G. Felty's "Marriage Records and Related Notes, Hamilton County, Illinois, John Mushgroves married Patsey Rich dau of Jeremiah Rich. In a footnote, Felty wrote, "County Commissioner's Court, March Term, 1842, listing of deliquent taxes; John Musgraves 'in Mo. state.'" In 1850, Sidney Jane's birthplace is given as Missouri, which could indicate the parents died in that state.

Although the 1850 census gives the older Sidney Rich's sex as male, isn't this an error and isn't Sidney the widow of Jeremiah?

Patsy is often used as a nickname for Martha.

If the John Musgroves on page 139 of the 1840 Hamilton county census, is the John who married Patsy, it appears there might have been at least 2 more male children.

John and Enoch Musgroves were enumerated in Dent Co MO in 1860 in the house of James Anderson. There several Anderson families in close proximity to the Riches and Musgraves in 1840 Hamilton Co. Is there a connection here?

Thanks for any help.
