Peter MUSGROVE (1778-1850) appears in the 1830 census in Milton Twp., Wayne Co., OH. He may be the same Peter MUSGROVE found in the 1810 and 1820 censuses for Washington Co., MD. He took out a land patent 7 Dec 1835 for land in Wood Co., OH. He is buried in Jeromesville Cem., Ashland Co., OH. He was probably the father of the following children and several more:

Mary Isabel (1802-1877), m. 1826, Charles CLIFFE (1805-1845) Charles CLIFFE took out a land patent 7 Dec 1835 for land in Wood Co., OH. Charles and Mary are buried in Cliffe-Noggle Cemetery, Ashand Co., OH.

Sarah, m. 1826, John FRANKS. John and Sarah moved to Hancock Co., OH. John later married Elizabeth FAST.

Nathaniel (1808-?) m. 1831, Jane BROWN. Nathaniel is found in the 1850 census in Cass Twp, Hancock Co., OH, living in the Nancy BROWN household. He is listed as a laborer, age 42, born in MD. Nancy BROWN was the paternal aunt of John FRANKS, mentioned above.

Edward (1813-?) Edward is found in the 1850 census for Bloom Twp, Wood Co., OH. He was living in the household of James and Julia A. (MUSGROVE) COPUS. He is lised as a laborer, age 38, born in MD. He is found in the 1860 census for Henry Twp., Wood Co., OH, living in the Mary COPUS household, along with brother William. He is listed as a laborer, aged 47, born in MD.

William (1816-?) He took out a land patent 10 Aug 1837 for land in Wood Co., OH. He is found in the 1840, 1850, and 1860 censuses for Henry Twp., Wood Co., OH. In 1850 he was living in the James SCOTT household. . He is listed as a laborer, aged 34, born in MD. In 1860 he was living in the Mary COPUS household, along with brother Edward. He is listed as a laborer, aged 44, born in MD.


I am interested in information on any Peter Musgrove found in MD, PA, or OH or on any of the above mentioned children.

Rebecca MUSGROVE, m. 1845 in Wayne Co., OH, Isaac BRINKER.

Julia A. MUSGROVE (1827-?), m. 1847 in Wood Co., OH, James COPUS. The 1850 census lists her as age 23, born in OH.
