George and Alisa:
Your line probably comes from Virginia via NC. Then GA, MO, and west. William and Frank both headed that way, as did some of their descendants brothers who ended up in TX. As I can find, Larkin was from John's line, and unless your Musgrove was a really late one, our family was well established here by the late 1600's. We descended from Musegros and Edenhall, and back to Alfred the Great. Scotch_Irish and Reivers, some of the lines but most caame over to work the tobacco trade early. They married both Creek Indian women and into the other early prominent families. I think they all go back to three or four brothers who ended up in MD and South Carolina in the 1700's and early 1800's. I know most of the ones in TX came from Frank and William, my ancestors children. But then again we have repeating family names, and most of us are working on the early 1800's. Holt was a common name in SW VA and in GA and there were also Osborne, Morris, Watson, Watkins, and numerous other ties where there were brothers and sisters. I am working on Posey, Howell, Nelson and Blackwell ties at the moment. You will probably find at least some links in this forum under Larkin, but try VA searches, they may be from Bedford lines that went to TN and GA as well. My Grandfather had relatives in Panama City, "YEBO" city as he called it. He was on the railroad, and had relatives spread all over. Cuthbert Musgrove was one of our family's early members, and he may be from that line in VA. I will keep you in mind, I am researching the links from VA to GA, Mo, etc. currently. I do know that there were ties between GA and FLA Musgroves that date from the Revolutionary War era. In any case, try the SC Musgroves first. They settled around Musgroves Mill and we had a number of major figures in that line. If you give any of us dates and any other names back maybe we can help you! Please feel free to e-mail me as I can respond better to individual requests and may be able to put you in touch if I see a link somewhere.
Jeni
