I am seeking information on Larkin C. Musgrove and Willis Musgrove, both of whom were living in Calhoun County, Florida in 1860. Larkin was murdered and Willis injured when they were attacked by a party of vigilantes on September 24, 1860. This incident helped spark a mini-civil war in Calhoun County that ended only when the Florida militia came in to disarm the vigilantes and save the Musgrove and Durden families who they were attempting to either drive out of the county or "exterminate." I am researching this episode and would love to make contact with any descendents of these men. I am particularly interested in finding any information from within the family about these events, whether in the form of family traditions or eyewitness accounts (i.e. diaries, letters, etc.). Thank you in advance. Best, Dale Cox Notify Administrator about this message?
