William Pinkney Musselwhite, NC, abt 1809

Still seeking any information about William, his daughter (Kate), or his father (Alexander Leonard).

I've been told that my great-grandfather once came across the belongings of a Musselwhite ancestor who had served in the Civil War. William Pinkney M. seems the most likely candidate, as his father would have been in his late fifties/early sixties at the start of the war (assuming he lived long enough to see it). Supposedly, the belongings included a uniform and sword (from his service in the Confederate forces), as well as a diary of some sort. The story goes that he owned a plantation. My family has no idea where these items are now, but probably they were taken by another branch of the family.

I'd appreciate anyting anyone might be able to tell me about Kate, William, and Alexander. For instance, does anyone know if William Pinkney Musselwhite serve in the Civil War?
